Scouts CCA Maze 2022

Scouts CCA Maze

Recently, the CCA Maze for Scouts was held. We had multiple activities and structures set up as demonstrations to show to our new generation of Scouts.

Activities we had planned

  • Pioneering

  • Backwoodsman

  • Campcraft

  • Booth of achievements

Pioneering

2 things were planned for the CCA Maze: A 1-1 flagpole and a Scout’s gateway

The 1-1 flagpole was made by our Scouts. In most Scouting events, Scouts create these tall flagpoles to use during opening ceremonies. This is to make the atmosphere of all events in Scouts, past or future, to be memorable.

The Scout gateway was made in respect to a tradition in Scouts. A gateway is built whenever a major event is about to take place. This time, the gateway was made for the CCA Maze to serve as a grand entrance for a new batch of Scouts joining us.

Backwoodsman

Another activity planned was Backwoodsman. Backwoodsman refers to skills and experience in living and thriving in the wild. An example of what we do in Backwoodsman is cooking with the fire. A fire is started to cook food, without the use of kitchen implements.

Camp craft

2 things were set up for this section: A tent and a camp gadget.

For the camp gadget, it was a shoe rack. This is made to show that any gadgets can be made with the techniques that the Scouts have learned in their experiences.

The other prepared item was the 6-man tent. Pitching a tent requires proper teamwork and coordination with other teammates. This tent will allow our Scouts to learn to work together with

others.

Booth of achievements

A booth was made to display some of the achievements that we have gotten over the years in Scouts.

One table had many achievements and examples of badges that can be obtained. Not only is it on display for the students, but Scouts are also able to reflect on their journey thus far.

A whiteboard was also put together with multiple posters. These posters showed significant events that we had done in the past in Scouts.
