Maris Stella 2516 Casper Cub Scout Pack Discovery Camp 2018 Service Scout Initiative

From the 22nd to 24th of November this year, eight of our Scouts participated in the Primary Section's Cub Scout Pack's inaugural revival of their Discovery Camp as Service Scouts under the invitation of the Pack's Akela Award recipients who organised the camp. The role played by the eight of them primarily included assisting the Camp ICs in the sharing of information to and answering queries from the Cubs regarding the Scouting skills taught during the course of the camp as well as providing the Cubs with a presentation detailing the activities and some information of the Scout Section (i.e. Scouting in secondary schools) in a bid to help them fulfil the My Scout Family component of their Bronze, Silver and Gold Arrow Progress Badges. Hence, the following pictures serve to document the efforts of the Scouts involved.

On overall, the Troop will seek to provide Scouts with more of such exchange activities with the Primary Section's Cub Scout Pack in an attempt to re-affirm the relations between both units in the build-up to our Scout Group's 50th anniversary celebrations next year, along with cultivating social skills and a sense of selfless service in our Scouts as part of their character development.

Yours-in-Scouting,
Luke Lim
