Commendation and Appreciation

[On behalf of all leaders]

We would like to use this blog as a platform to show our appreciation and support to the Sec 4s (2013) Scouts of whom, with the assistance of Ventures from the Maris Stella Phantom Venture Scout Unit, worked tirelessly to build the pioneering structure and ensuring that the event was properly managed.

Although the campfire was cancelled and replaced with a gangshow due to poor weather conditions, the pioneering structure that was built, a tower, was most certainly impressive, a feat that has not been seen for the past 8 years or so.

On this, we would like to commend our SPLs, SPL Ho Jia Le and SPL Ho Hol Yin, in having displayed the courage and confidence in scaling the structure and working on the knots from a precarious position.

With certainty, building a pioneering structure of this magnitude is only possible when people come together and work together with mutual respect for each other. The sec 4 Scouts have exemplified the Scouting spirit and, most importantly, the strong camaraderie of Maris Stella Phantom Scout Unit.

Also, we would like to commend PL Matthias Thien and PL Darell Tan for the courage to step up as Master of Ceremony for the event. The ability to stand before a crowd of 9 Sec 1 classes and personnel from the teaching and management faculty of the school takes a lot of courage and commitment. Their courage, commitment and effort is well recognized by us leaders and we appreciate their hard work.

All in all, we would like to thank all Sec 4 Scouts who were down to support in a way or another. We appreciate your work and we respect your commitment and loyalty to the Scout Unit, such as Xu Da who joined us despite having just recovered from his fever and PL Shaun who worked hard to get the Sec 1s involved.

Once again, thank you Sec 4 Scouts and we look forward to all Scouts to exhibit the positive attitudes exemplified by your seniors as we, as the Phantom Scout Unit, continue to strive TO BE THE BEST THAT WE CAN BE!

Yours-in-Scouting,
Mr Eric Soong
Scout Leader
