23rd March Wednesday Scout Meeting

Hi scouts, this is the first meeting after March Holidays, so I hope all of you are refreshed for it! For this meeting, Sec 3s will be in charge until sec 4s return from their mock test, so utmost respect should still be given to them.

There will be no meeting on Friday, so please persuade your brothers to attend meeting. Also, we will be collecting Job Week cards this meeting, so remember to bring your job week cards. Please change all you loose change to big notes, i.e. $10, $50, if possible.

Note*: scouts will be marked for leadership potential in the PLC

Note**: Sec 4s to fall in outside scout den at 1700 after mock exam.

  Please remember to bring your consent forms to the events, those without consent forms, your parents will be called up so as to check. Have a heavy meal before the events as it will be ending very late.

Leadership Training Camp 2016

Fall in: Outside Scout den
Time: 0730
Attire: FSU

  Two more days left for job week, I hope you guys have already realised that it is not that much all about the amount of money you earned, but the experience that you gain.

Participants are also reminded not to bring the following items to camp:

-Hand phone (Allowed to bring to camp. Will be kept by instructors at the start of the camp and only be returned after break camp)

-Unauthorized Electronic Devices

-Food

-Playing Cards

-Excessive Cash

-Other Valuables

If any of the mentioned items are found, they will be confiscated and returned only after the camp.

The above list is by no means exhaustive, and other items may be similarly confiscated and returned upon discretion of the camp committee. 

Please remember to bring your LTC forms together with the zhong hua campfire and earth hour forms. Lastly, remember to waterproof your bags/belongings. See y'all in the camp!

15/3/16 Collection of firewood for LTC 2016

Fall in: Outside Scout den
Time: 1000-1300 & 1500-1700
Attire: School related attire

  This meeting only concerns those who are attending LTC 2016. As mentioned previously, Scouts are to collect firewood to cook your own meals during the camp. Remember to bring along big enough  bags to store your firewood in. NTUC ones are too small, black trash bags are advised.
 
  There will be two different meetings, one in the morning and the other in the evening, Scouts can choose to come for either of them. Sec 1s and 2s Scouts are not allowed to collect firewood on your own without the supervision of seniors(Sec 3s or higher).

Note: NO BRINGING OF MATCHES, LIGHTERS OR ANY FLAMMABLE ITEMS

Job week and LTC 2016 preparation

Dear Scouts,

  The first day of job week is over and I hope you guys have earned a decent amount, if not continue to persevere! From day 2 of job week onwards, Scouts are allowed to wear their half uniform(no need scarf), refer to the "ATTIRE" tab for more information.

  The upcoming camp LTC is around the corner and there will be some preparations needed, mainly to collect firewood as you guys will be cooking your own meals in the camp. Scouts are to collect enough firewood for yourself. Sec 3s will be in charge, there should be at least a Sec 3 in charge of each group to assure the safety of the Scouts.

  Should there be any mischievous acts conducted by the Scouts or any Scouts spotted without a Sec 3 incharge, punishment will be dealt accordingly.

  Scouts are also expected to standardised the morning inspection layout.

  All these are to be done before the camp, there will be another post for the camp itself later.

  The deadline for the submission of Google forms has already been exceeded, those who have not fill
it up are to do so ASAP.

Reminder: submit LTC, zhonghua campfire, earth hour, etc forms on the day itself, 16/3/16.

12th March Job Week Meeting

Fall in: Secondary school basketball court
Time: 0830-1800
Attire: FSU without beret and foot-drill boots

Job week is 24H away, I hope you guys had enough rest and are ready to get your hands dirty! Make sure your FSU is properly don by this Saturday, refer to the "ATTIRE" tab if needed.

Scouts are advised to have their breakfast before coming and bring along some money to buy food along the way. Bring along a pen, a haversack or water bottle if needed. Lastly, please remember to bring your job week cards!

Note: Sec 1s are to wear their National scarf(red and white)

Badges including Unit badge, frank cooper sands gold badge,etc will be given out

Dear Scouts,

  I hope that this week would be one for you to rest and be prepared for the upcoming events such as Job Week, LTC 2016, Zhong Hua Campfire and Earth Hour 2016!

  Firstly, I would like to emphasise that Scouts are expected to read the entire blog post, not just the "important" part. Redundant questions will not be entertained.

  As stated, from now, registration for events and administrative matters will be settled through the Marist g-mail while the detailed posts will be uploaded on the blog. Hence, Scouts are expected to check both the blog and their email daily. (Applies also for Scouts who are not attending)

  Certain events are paid for by the unit, therefore please follow up with your decisions. In cases where any changes are to be made , Scouts are to write an email to Mr Ng and myself to inform us.

  A google form regarding the Zhong Hua campfire and Earth Hour 2016 has just been sent, Scouts are required to fill it up by 10/3/16 2359. This applies for the LTC 2016 forms also, Scouts are to submit their consent forms to Mdm Lim's pigeon hole(inside the box), located at the Math & Science Department at level 6. Earth Hour 2016 consent forms will be distributed soon. There will be a separate detailed post later regarding this two events.

  During the week, the Patrol Leaders will pass their respective patrol members, namely the Sec 1s some badges such as the Unit badge and Frank Cooper Sands badge, which are required to be sewn on the FSU.(Not ironed on)

  Sec 1s are to purchase the Scout belt and beret backing on their own at the Scout shop.(Collect the receipt and put it in Mdm Lim's pigeon hole, in the box) Other compulsory item such as uniform covers are sold there too, foot-drill boots are sold at the Army Market. (Not subsidised by Unit)

  The "ATTIRE" tab has been uploaded, now Scouts can use that as a reference.

  Lost and found items are currently held in the Spar room, Scouts can collect their items before the deadline on 12/3/16 before the start of job week. Those items which are not retrieved by then, will either be donated to the Unit or thrown away.

  Hi Scouts, this is the first Friday meeting of the year, hopefully all of you are energized and ready.

Tomorrow, the sec 3s will be in charge as the sec 4s will be having their CL/HCL mock exam. Sec 3s are to build the 1-1 flagpole before the start of meeting. 

  Not only will the knots that you guys have learnt be put to the test tomorrow, teamspirit will also play a part. It will be our last official meeting until the next one on 12/3/16, persuade your brothers to come! 

*Note: PT Kit 2 includes the Unit t-shirt and PE pants.

All scouts are not required to wear their foot-drill boots.

Sec 4s are to fall in outside the scout den in PT kit 2 at 1600

*Reminder: There will be NDP selection trials on 5th March and 12 March, both are Saturdays, also, there will be Zhong Hua campfire coming up.
